Only 4 more days until Sea Camp

Only 4 more days until Sea Camp!

Here are a few reminders before this Friday's trip!

Bring $10 cash on Friday for your mask, snorkel and fins rental.  If you are bringing your own mask it must be made of tempered glass.

Don't forget to pack a lunch for the busride on Friday.  Include three (3) self-contained drinks (water, juice, Gatorade).  No sodas or energy drinks.

We won't be eating again until Friday evening, which is pizza night.

A plastic bag for wet clothes is suggested by Sea Camp.  Our suggestion is to pack your child’s Sunday bus-ride clothes home in the plastic bag so they stay clean and dry for the trip home.  There is nothing worse than riding for six hours home in stinky, wet clothes.

Donations of bottled water or snacks for the bus would be very appreciated!  We have 28 students going on the trip.  Donations can be brought in early and placed in Mrs. Rossheim's room or brought the day of the trip.
THANK YOU!

We are looking forward to an awesome trip!  We will keep you posted of any additional updates.

Fishing poles

We have had a few questions about fishing during students' free time.

This is from Sea Camp: "If you have students who wish to fish – you will be given information on the available location. A chaperone from your school must be present at all times. ALL FISHING IS CATCH AND RELEASE ONLY. Participants must provide all of their own fishing equipment and bait; artificial lures are recommended as there is no storage area for frozen bait."

If a student does bring a fishing pole, they will be responsible for keeping track of and carrying the fishing pole.

Don't forget to read through the "Things to Bring" flyer.  Important information here!

Also, please go through the student policies and orientation with your child.  It is important that all students and chaperones read and understand the following policies.  During your community living experience at NHMI, it is important to respect others and follow the rules so that everyone can have a fun and enjoyable stay.

Can't wait to have a lot of fun!

I can’t believe we are 34 days from the Sea Camp trip!  As we countdown during these final days we have a few important tasks.

This is the link to the Pre-Trip forms that will need to be printed and completed.  The “Things to Bring” list has everything your child will need for Sea Camp.  I will need the completed minor release forms before April 30th.  In addition to those completed forms, I will need the bus payment of $101.46 per student.  (We have room for 4 more students if you know anyone from the class who is still interested.)

First Sea Camp Fundraiser!

Great news!  Our first Sea Camp fundraiser is ready to get started!
We will be fundraising with Fun Pasta Fundraising for our Sea Camp trip!  The pasta selection is affordable and selling is fun and simple.  And best of all, each student will earn 40% profit!
What is Fun Pasta?
Fun Pasta is pasta shaped like the holidays, sports, collegiate team logos, and more.  The colorful brochure features a wide variety of shapes that will appeal to everyone!
We will be doing both an online sale and brochure sales!
You can start your online sale now! SHARE our Webpage Link on Facebook, Twitter, and Email!
https://www.funpastafundraising.com/shop/lns-camp
The online sale will end November 30th.  Customers will be able to select which student they are ordering for and credit will go directly to that student’s Sea Camp account.  There is a flat rate shipping charge of $6.95, but they ship within a couple of days, and our relatives can easily support our group!
Brochures will be given to the students the week of October 27th.  All order forms and checks will be due back by Friday November 14th.
You can choose which sale to do; online only, brochure only, both or neither!
Every sale helps support our group and gets us closer to our goal.  The products are healthy, fun, and affordable – and make great gifts, too!
If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to let me know.
Don’t forget…if you haven't sent in your deposit yet, I do need it on or before Friday October 10th!

Sea Camp Information Meeting Follow Up

Hello!
Thank you to all those who attended today and we missed those who weren’t able to join us.  I wanted to re-cap what we discussed and hopefully get this process moving!

  • Non-refundable $100 deposits are due to Sea Camp by October 10th.
    •    Checks need to be payable to “Anna Worden” and in the memo line your child’s name and Sea Camp.  You can send the checks in an envelope to school and I will pick them up each day.
      • I will provide at any time bank statements.  Since this is not a school sponsored trip I had to open a personal account for the Sea Camp funds.
  • The remaining balance of fees to Sea Camp will be due by December 10th.
    • The final cost will depend on the number of students attending and the bus cost.
  • We love parents, but they will not be able to chaperone.  Please note that for the safety of everyone only official chaperones are allowed on the Sea Camp property.
  • We will be having fundraising opportunities.  Help is welcomed!
  • I have posted FAQs on the website, http://lnsseacamp.blogspot.com/, as well as Sea Camp forms.
How you can help me:
  • Even though deposits are not due until October 10th, can you let me know how confident you feel in that your child will attend.  I am trying to determine a headcount for the trip.
This will be an amazing trip!
If you have any questions, please let me know!
Anna
